Set up app defaults and directories
Use the global screens outside a tournament to prepare reusable defaults, venues, players, and doubles pairs. These records are available when you create and configure tournaments later.
Configure app defaults
Open Settings from the bottom of the sidebar.
- Enter a positive value in Default match duration. The value is saved immediately and is used when a tournament day has no separate duration.
- Enter the Publish token issued by the site administrator. The token is saved when you leave the field.
- Enter any default Contacts: Email, Phone, WhatsApp, Viber, Facebook, or Instagram. Each field is saved when you leave it.
Default contacts are copied into a new tournament when you create it. Changing the app defaults later does not update contacts already stored in existing tournaments.
The default match duration is a fallback. Changing it does not replace a duration already saved in a tournament’s day settings.
Add and reuse venues
Open Venues from the main sidebar.
- Select New venue.
- Enter a Name. This field is required.
- Optionally enter an Address and Map link.
- Select Create.
The venue is added to the global list and can be selected for more than one tournament. A saved map link opens in your default browser.
To edit a venue, select its name, address, or map link in the list. Press Enter or leave the field to save the change. Press Escape to cancel. Clearing the address or map link removes that value; an empty venue name is not saved.
To remove a venue, point to its row, select the delete icon, and confirm the venue name.
Before you delete: A venue selected by a tournament cannot currently be deleted. Change the tournament’s venue first.
Add players to the global registry
Open Players from the main sidebar.
- Select New Player.
- Enter Last Name and First Name. Both fields are required.
- Optionally enter Club, select gender
MorW, and enter the year in Born. - Select the check mark or press
Enterto save the player.
The input row stays open after saving so that you can add several players in sequence. Select the cross or press Escape when you are finished.
Use the search field to find a player by name, club, or birth year. Use All, M, and W to filter by gender. Select the Last Name or Club column heading to sort the list and reverse the sort direction.
Adding a player here does not register that player in a tournament. Tournament registrations are managed separately after the tournament is created.
Import players from CSV
Use Import CSV on Players to add several players from a .csv or .txt file.
Prepare one player per row in this column order:
last_name,first_name,club,gender,birth_year
Andersen,Lars,Kobenhavn BC,M,2012
Ivanova,Maria,Sofia BC,F,2011
- Use either commas or semicolons as the separator throughout the file.
- The first header row is optional.
- Last Name and First Name are required. Rows missing either value are skipped.
- Club, Gender, and Born are optional.
- Gender accepts
M,male,F, orfemale, without regard to letter case. Other values leave gender empty. - An invalid birth year leaves Born empty.
- Select Import CSV.
- Choose the file.
- Check the imported count in the confirmation message.
Import adds every valid row as a new player. It does not detect or merge duplicate players.
Edit or remove a player
On Players, point to a row to show the edit and delete actions.
- Select the edit icon.
- Update the fields.
- Select the check mark or press
Enterto save. Select the cross or pressEscapeto cancel.
Saving a player edit recalculates generated names linked to that player. This can overwrite a manually edited pair name even when you changed a different player field. Rename the pair after finishing player edits if you need a custom name.
To remove a player, select the delete icon and confirm the player’s name.
Before you delete: Removing a player from the global registry also removes that player’s tournament registrations and removes the player from stored pairs. The app does not block deletion when the player is already in use. Check every affected tournament before deleting the player.
Create a doubles pair
Create global pairs on Doubles so that the same pairing can be used in tournament entries later.
- Select New Pair.
- Select
MD,WD, orXDunder Category. - Select Player 1 and Player 2.
- Review the generated Pair name and edit it if needed.
- Select Create.
The player lists follow the selected category:
MDoffers two male players.WDoffers two female players.XDoffers a male player in Player 1 and a female player in Player 2.- The same player cannot occupy both positions in one pair.
The new pair is stored in the global Doubles list. It is not automatically added as an entry to a tournament event.
The screen does not detect duplicate pairs. Search the existing list before creating another pair with the same players and category.
Use the search field to find a pair by its name or a player’s last name. Use All, MD, WD, and XD to filter the list. Select a pair name in the table to rename it; press Enter or leave the field to save, or press Escape to cancel.
Recalculate pair names
Use Recalc names when you want to rebuild generated names from the current player names.
- On Doubles, select Recalc names.
- Under Name order, select First name first or Last name first.
- Under Last name case, select UPPERCASE or Capitalized.
- Select Recalc.
This is a global recalculation, not an operation on only the currently filtered rows. The confirmation reports how many stored names changed.
Before you recalculate: Manually edited names are overwritten.
Remove a doubles pair
On Doubles, point to a pair, select the delete icon, and confirm the pair name.
Before you delete: Removing a global pair also removes its tournament entries and draw assignments. Existing matches can lose that side. Delete only a pair that has not been used in a tournament.
Fix common problems
A player is missing from the pair selector
Check the player’s gender on Players. Players with no gender, or a gender that does not match the selected doubles category and position, are not offered. Save the correct gender, then return to Doubles.
Import finishes without adding a player
Check the column order and use one separator consistently. Every imported row must contain a last name and first name in the first two columns. Rows that do not meet these requirements are skipped without a row-by-row error message.
A venue is not deleted after confirmation
The venue is still selected by a tournament. Open that tournament, choose another venue or No venue, save the change, and then remove the venue from Venues.
A custom pair name changed after a player edit
Saving any edit to a player recalculates names linked to that player. Finish editing the player first, then rename the pair on Doubles.
Before you continue
- Check player genders before creating doubles pairs or tournament entries.
- Check birth years if tournaments will use age restrictions.
- Create every venue that you expect to select while setting up tournaments.
- Keep global players and pairs until all tournaments that use them are complete.
